BW Test System refresh from BW production system

Hello,

We have received a request from client to do BW Test system refresh from BW Prodcution system. The last BW Test System was refreshed in year 2007. Also the source system for BW also got refreshed in year 2007.

Now we are not doing refresh of source system this year. So only doing refresh of BW test system will connect to source system of having data of 2007 and the subsequent extract will bring data of 2007 from source system and this might create data inconsistencies. Is this correct?

What complications we can face if we go for the BW refresh without any source system refresh or it will not be possible at all?

Any feedback will be higly appreciated.

I dont think this is a good idea at all

BI will have all the latest production data and source system will have non-production data,this is on use as data inconsistencies will occur between these two systems,moreover they should be on sync w.r.t data and I guess this refresh will not help,

Hi Rohit,

Thanks for the reply and help. So only option is that with refresh of BW system from Production, we should also go for the refresh of Source system for it's respective production system to get the data in Sync, right?

Yes it is the only good option

you should refresh BW as well as all the source systems so that the data is in sync in qa environments
