HI GUrus,

can anybody please answer the follwoing questions for me.

1) Std and moving average prices of a mterial on the PO.

2) inforecord prices on the PO

3) what prices get pulled onto the PO? from the material master or inforecord?

4) does the price on the inforecord get updated automatically because of the inforecord update check box on the PO?

Please clarify. help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Moving and standard average prices are the pricing types which have to be used for valuation of the material .These will be indicated in the material master accounting view.

Info record links a material with vendor through its price.Here in inforecrd only price will be filled.Again info record can be at plant level and purchase organisation level.Info record stores the last purchasing document , and this will get updated with info update indicator in the PO.

The prices in the PO are termed to be time independant conditions and need not be the price inicated in the material master.Price will not get defaulted material master unless there is a condition record for the combination.

when you create PO most of the times system asks for a price if there exists no info record, or ouline aggrement.If you create a aggrement with a price and create a PO with reference to that, price will get defaulted from that despite of inforecord.and no aggrement and a info record exists for the combination , prices will get defaulted.

if you have pricing procedure copled with condition records, again it will be a differrant story.

hence prices in the PO are time independant and it is depend upon the situation accordingly.

But however what ever may be the price in PO system compares with material master price and if there exists a differance , it will post to either price differrance account or to a stock account depending upon the price type.

Dear Vemulapati,

Standard and Moving average prices is for accounting purpose after finishing purchase the price will post wich account,this functionality will decide through the this accounting in material master.

2) inforecord prices on the PO

Yes,Info record price only come when you creating PO but system will consider first any contract price then next info price

The price only come Info record,there is no relation in Material Master.

4) does the price on the inforecord get updated automatically because of the inforecord update check box on the PO?

No,Info update button in PO there is no relation in Info record,this is given for some other purpose.when you saving PO system will automatically update info record tables.

None of these two indicators will help in PO creation, these are basically for valuation of the stock and not for PO creation.

Inforecord prices on the PO

This will be prompted during the PO creation if the vendor/material combination matches

What prices get pulled onto the PO? from the material master or inforecord?

Always Info_record price only gets pulled for PO and not material master price

Does the price on the inforecord get updated automatically because of the inforecord update check box on the PO?

The Purpose is to achieve the same by activating the check box indicator in the item level of the material tab in the PO. Just cross check if you need to maintain all the condtion tyeps at Info_record level also.

Only the info record price will flow to PO and not the material master price.

Even through you activate the info record check box in PO, the price of the info record will not get updated.
