"System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified error"

we are on V.4.2 SP4.

One user getting error opening WebExcel which says:

"System Error &H80004005 (-2147467259). Unspecified error"

And when clicked OK, another pop up saying "out of memory"

We had some other users getting this error after installing Excel 2007 and uninstall 2007/reinstall 2003 or one user getting same error without installing 2007 at all.

Then we had to run system restore to the point to before Excel 2007 was installed.

But for this user, system restore was failed.

Does any of you have ever getting same error and resolved without performing system restore?

Thanks,

Hi Kim,

Some times missing DLL files can cause this error. If this error is specific to one client system, reinstall Client software and check client side diagnostics.

IT support uninstall/reinstall Excel and uninstall/reinstall OutlookSoft.

Client diagnostics shows no error or problem.

It must be related to some system files. So far, only system restore resolved this problem for 3 other users in last 6 months.

2 other ueres were getting this error after 2007 install and reinstall 2003.

One other user was even without 2007 so I thought some corporate distributed s/w installation causing that.

This user just migrated to new domain but all others who also migrated are having no problem.

I'd appreciate any idea.

Hi,

I was thinking one option would be to re-install Office. However, you have already tried it.

Can you please check the RAM of this particular system and compare with the RAM of other systems.

Nilanjan,

Yes, we did try installing Office but still the same.

He has 1G RAM same as most of our users.

Hi Bridgett,

Were you able to resolve this issue? I am having the same problem. I use Excel 2007. We currently working on an implementation of BPC 5.1 (Microsoft). I seem to be the only one on my team with this issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled BPC several times and also unstalled SnagIt 8 (which also uses the Xceedzip.dll file). Did uninstalling/reinstalling Excel 2007 work? I would appreciate any information you may be able to share.

Janet

Hi,

Please check the version of xceedzip.dll. You can copy the file from the server and register it in your system. Another thing is to check whether the osoft addin is enabled in your excel or not.

Hi,

Do you have office 2007?

If you open a normal excel, do you see any menu named "Add - Ins"?

1. If yes, then does the error appear when you try to login through there?

2. If no, then go to excel options -> Add - Ins. Check for the add in - "OSoftAddIn". This should be active.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Please open the normal excel. Fo to excel options -> add ins.

There you will find a drop down box called "Manage".

Select COM add ins and click on Go.

Under the available add ins, you can see OSoftAddIn.

I guess this is not selected. You need to select it. Press OK and close the excel completely. Now, you should be fine with BPC excel.

However, one thing to be noted is that you need to login into the system with the administrator account.

Hope this helps.

We are having the same issue installing BPC for Excel on a few of our users as well.

We tried to re-register the Xceedzip.dll file to the BPC folder for these users but that did not work either.

Is there a resolution for this issue?

We did the following and it has worked for us.:

- Uninstall BPC

- Uninstall SAP (anything related to SAP: GUI, BEx, etc.)

- Uninstall Office 07

- Uninstall Visio and Project 03, if installed

- Cleaned registry with CCleaner

Reinstall in this order:

- Visio and Project 03, if required

- Office 2007 and all available updates

- SAP 710, patch 15

- BPC

Hi,

Can that user work on another system without having that specific error? Or can other users work on that system? Is this problem coming while accessing only a particular appset?

Nilanjan,

His Office Excel is working ok.

When opening WebExcel, he is not even getting the login window and WebExcel does not open at all and only this error window pop up. So not AppSet specific.

Thanks,
