Virtualization Options on MaxDB

We are in the process of looking into the possibility of virtualizing our SAP environment that run on MaxDB. We are currently running version 7.6.05.15 and according to OSS Note 1142243 this supports virtualization. I do see that for supported OS's, Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris are all listed as being supported. HP-UX is not listed.

Can this be taken that MaxDB is not supported running in a virtualized HP-UX environment?

No, this should be taken as: it's untested yet/not tested enough.

So if you want to do this - move on.

As for the other virtualization environments it may be that the MaxDB support will eventually have to have you reproduce the issue in a non-virtual setup.

If you want to get the blessing of SAP before - open a support message and ask for it.
