Problem in SSO for SAP GUI for HTML

Former Member

Hi,

We have EP 7.0 SP 17 and tried to implement SSO with our develoment ECC server using SAPLOGON TICKET method.

We created a system and maintained 'connector', 'ITS' and 'WebAs' details. When testing the SSO it is working fine for SAPGUI for Windows but not for SAPGUI for HTML.

We used two transaction iViews one for windows GUI and another for HTML GUI. When we see the preview of the iView for HTML we are getting only the logon page where it asks for user id and password.

This problem happens only for logon ticket method where as it is working fine for UIDPW method.

Please help me to resolve this.

Regards,

Tamil K

Make sure your ITS settings in the portal include a fully qualified hostname and leave the ITS path blank.

Hi Michel,

Thank you for your reply. We are using ip address instead of host name. Is it must to use host name only? It is one of our client's system and they said that they dont mainatin any FQDN. With IP address in the host field i removed the path and checked but no luck, getting same error.

Hi Rajendar,

I tried with fully qualified host name in our landscape but getting the same problem. It only opens the webgui logon page not the given transaction.

But if you use UIDPW method and map a particular user then everything works fine.

That's because UIDPW is not using logon tickets. It is a cheap hack.

have you ensure that when using logon tickets, the user logging in has relevant backend access...

perhaps in user mapping, the particular userid might have necessary backend access..and hence its working fine ..

just check if the loggin in user has necessary authorization during logon ticket method..

Hi,

Just check that you have properly done the SSO in backend after importing the ver file in STRUSTSSO2 tcode.

Also check the ITS parameters in your system. Check the ITS services are running from backend you are testing.
