PM02 is for External Work , It can be Material or Service or other external work

PM03 is for External Services for Man Power hiring or any man Power related cost flow , it doesnot involve material as per my knowledge.

Other Difference is the way of Executing the external work

In PM02 whether it is material or service or other , you do goods receipt , invoice & do payment.

In PM03 you Create PR-- PO -- Service Entry Sheet -- Accept it -- Invoice & Payment

    Hi

PM02 - External Processing is carried out for the operation, and a purchase requisition and a purchase order are generated from this. The costs of this task are posted through the goods receipt or invoice receipt for the purchase order.

PM03 - External Services is carried out for the service, and through DP90 debit memo request the sales order has been generated in the background & billing has to be done.

    Regards,

    HI

the operations for orders to be processed externally as operations to be processed externally using a corresponding control key. In the standard system, this control key is PM02.

the operations for orders to be processed externally, which you want to process with service specifications, using a corresponding control key. In the standard system, this control key is PM03.

In PM02 - You can do scheduling the operations, determine the capacity recruitments, calculating the cost, Time confirmations can be done... but not required...

IN PM03 - You can calculate the cost, print control will be given,Time confirmations can be done... but not required, service entry sheet to me maintained

      Hi Anjana,

In PM02 Control Key the process continues to be typical Subcontracting process in MM.

While For Control Key PM03, you need to have service entry sheet.then creating PO for it, Accepting the entry sheet ;invoice verification and all other process.

In PM02 you can send your material outside for the repair; whereas in PM03 you can call external services to your plant to avail the services.

Hope this will solve your problem.

      For any clarification revert Back

    • Hi

Control key is not defined in MM, it is done in PM

Control key determines which business transactions should be executed for the object that belongs to the task list or order (for example scheduling or costing).

If its external operation it generates PR ,if it is Internal operation you can do scheduling , time confirmation , as you defined in control key.

Check this path SPRO - PMCS - Maint & Service Processing - Maint & Service Orders - Functions & Settings of Order types - Control Key -Maintain Control keys
