Hello everyone,
I am in the process of trying out Analytics Cloud and Analysis for Office for reporting purposes. I am a total starter concerning this topic.
I want to report on the basis of the table ACDOCA. I want to select certain fields from table, filter by certain fields etc.
From my understanding I would need a BEx Query to report in Analytics Cloud (since we're using a direct live connection) and for Analysis for Office too. Is this correct?
Are there any standard options for reporting on table ACDOCA?
I found some querys containing the multiprovider /ERP/SFIN_M01 in my system which, from my understanding, would help for reporting on ACDOCA, but from my understanding the multiprovider doesn't contain all the different fields from ACDOCA to filter from etc.?
Another question I have is: do these Info-/Multiprovider get activated in the BI Content section of RSA1 (Data Warehouse Workbench)?
Is there additonal BI Content which can be imported to BW or does it contain all BI Content which then can be activated?
Please help me get an understanding of this topic.
Thanks a lot in advance
Best regards
Hi Timo, you're correct. The majority of the models in the standard content are "import" type models and currently, it's not possible to replace from import to live and vice-versa.
But I am sure there is a plan to change this in the near future.
Meanwhile, you'd need to create live models and replace the stories with these - bear in mind when you do this you lose chart/table definitions.

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for your answer! I'm already familiar with the business content provided. Since we're using a live data connection, where no data gets replicated in the cloud, we aren't able to use our data with the finance business content from my understanding. The models provided for the finance business content are based on import data, not on live data as far as I know?

Timo - I recommend starting with the business content provided - please see https://www.sapanalytics.cloud/learning/business-content/ and go under Finance, and it talks about ACDOCA - it covers how to import it.

Hi Timo,
You can create data models(Calculation or CDS views), expose them on Analytics cloud using live data connection. You will need to do some configurations on your server for connection and you can create your reports directly.

Hi Dominic thanks for your answer, too!
The documentation states in the introduction "Many of the content models are based on replicated data, not on live data connections."
As far as I can see the Marketing content and some S/4HANA Cloud content is based on live data connections but the finance one seems to be based on imported data? Does this mean I cannot link my SAP system (via direct live connection) to the finance business content?
This would be nice to know since if that is not possible the tool loses a lot of value for me and my clients.

Hello Timo,
check the documentation for analytics cloud content.
Here a link for content innovation 8: Documentation_SAP_SAC_CONT_2018_05
I recommend using existing cds-views. (S/4HANA live connection)
Then you don't need a way through BW.
Best regards,
Dominic
