HI,
1 is it by defualt system always Performs backward scheduling
2. in mat master we have consumptions mode in mrp3 is it related to backward scheduling
PL suggest
Hi,
Yes, By default scheduling is always done by Backward.
Consumption mode
The consumption mode controls the direction on the time axis in which the system consumes requirements.
Use
In backward consumption, sales orders, dependent requirements or material reservations consume planned independent requirements that lie before the requirements date.
In forward consumption, sales orders, dependent requirements, or material reservations consume planned independent requirements that lie after the requirements date.
Thanks,
Raja

HI,
1 so we can't make system to perform forward scheduling insated of backward scheduling
2. suppose if i maintain in house production time , planned goods recipt time & RLT also
which time system will consider? which has priority
3 whether these dates will be added to picking/packing , loading, transit, trans lead time
Pl suggest
By Default it ill be Backward only.
for details refer

Thanks,

Qn No 1
We can make the system to stop with backward scheduling only and no forward at all ( t code OVLY)
We can make system to stop after backward scheduling and not going to forward at all, even if backward fails
In this case yoiu will not get confirmed dates for deliveries if backward fails
But we cannot make system to perform Forward scheduling as first by default
That will be illogical
Qn No 2
In house production time , planned goods recipt time these two are added up and this is one parameter
RLT This is another parameter
Suppose In house production time is 1 day planned goods recipt time is 1 day and the total is 2 days
RLT is 3 days
Now the system has a choice between 2 and 3 only and system will take the RLT time only
RLT time has the complete control
Qn No 3
Backward scheduling there is no qn of these in house production time , planned goods recipt time & RLT times at all ,they will not come into play at all ,as the material is available thro the lead times enough quantities to meet the requested delivery date of the customer
In forward scheduling these inhouse, RLT and GR time system arrives at MAD then transit, transportation planning.pick pack and load times are added
So only in forward these times are taken ino account

Raja
