I am working with a client who currently has a finance driven OM structure. They have grouped their employees in to cost centres they belong to and assigned this group in to an org unit. The implication is that the structure is not hierarchical.
Now the client wants to make the structure HR driven and create a hierarchical structure based on reporting lines. My question is has any of you had a similar experience with other clients? How do companies generally tackle the issue of having HR or/and Finance structures?
