Hi,
We are currently testing our PI7.1 system connectivity with our ECC6.0 system.
For this purpose we are building an RFC-File scenario where we want to execute a function module in ECC6.0 and capture the values into a file through the PI interface.
The function module is remote enabled and when we execute the function module with the RFC destination we get a error " System_Failure".
The RFC detination is setup in the ECC to connect to PI with the relevant program id.
Due to this error we are unable to proceed, please help.

crosscheck your RFC destination setting with this blog:
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
Gateway host: PI server name
Gateway Service: sapgwXX (where XX comes from the j2ee port number 5XX00...the one you mention in the url for IR/ID)
Once RFC connection setup is done check it with connection test tab present in the /nSM59 screen.

Abhishek.

Hi Kishore,
Check the sxmb_moni transaction and see if the data passed from the RFC is coming through to XI.
Sometimes, eventhough the R/3 system shows System_error, the data will be sent to XI.
Probably the RFC is expecting a response from the called system (XI in your case), which is not sending a response and hence giving you an error.

Hi,
I appreciate your suggestions, we have been verifying in SXMB_MONI where no relevant message is showing up. The problem seems to be with with the Function Module which we are executing with
RFC target as the RFC destination we setup in ECC system to PI.
Can anyone suggest the procure to test remote function module from ECC to PI , with settings required?

Kishore
Hi,
SYSTEM_FAILURE
1) Check if the same Program ID (as in RFC destination) is used in the entire scenario...check CC
2) Check if the involved systems are up and running
3) Check if the required RFC is used in XI....and all the configuration done...
there maybe some more details with the SYSTEM_FAILURE message...can you post it in sdn?
Regards,
Abhishek.
first u have to create the communication channel and give the program id(unique) then activate the communication channel the use the same program id to create the RFC CONNECTION
