Reporting at Segment Level

Hi All,

I have use case in which I have to do reporting at company level and and at a child unit level. I have create the child unit as segment in SAP ByDesign and a profit center below it.

I want to understand is it better to create the segment as profit center or profit center should be child of the segment. Which one is better design and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the both design.
