Hi Experts,
Is there a way to mass copy Journals that have multiple postings?
Users currently create a journal with multiple postings (for future quarters) and for a new year they select each journal individually and then select Multiple postings and the new 4 quarters of the upcoming year.
This is a very time consuming effort.
Is
there a better way?
We looked into importing Journal Entries via the Import Journals (RESTORE_JOURNALS
Process Chain), however this solution allows individual journal creation rather
than group/Multiple Postings.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Eyal
There is no other way to use journals. Only standard interface. Sorry.

Thank you Vadim. If I understood your response - we can copy the results each period via scripts. However, then we lose the Journal detail. We want to maintain the journal in each period, allowing the users to go in change the amounts and re-post. They want the audit trail of the journals.
You are suggestion the creating an input form(s) for journal like entries, and extend the current UJ_VALIDATION rules to forms. This will enforce the validation rules. and we could copy the amounts to future periods.
Guess there aren't other options?

Eyal

You may use standard input form instead of journals in some cases. You can use scripts to copy values...
