Portal Exception - Deployment masthead

Hello Portal Experts,

Enterprise Portal 6.40

I have uploaded a the original masterhead PAR file to PCD (com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par)

When I now run the iView I got the following Log file. When I like to create a new iView of the masthead par it is not visible in the list. Do I need to do an extra deplyment?

Thanks for all you support, I have recreated the Masterhead PAR folder structure using a PAR file from other portal as pattern.

unfortunately no second portal available, but is the orginal PAR file maybe on the installation CDs?

It will be in one of the SCA files, but I don't know which one. If you apply the latest SP it will have the latest version.

I can see the masterhead par file under portalapps, but the portalapps.xml show the following:

If you have another portal somewhere you might want to get the par file from there...

but how can I get back the original status of portal application com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.

Upload seems not working.

Is there there maybe somewhere an the server stored a backup of the file?

Hi Axel,

Please check out tht you have uploaded com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead coz in one of your post i saw com.test---- .

You can check if you can see the masthead appliaction deployed at System Admin -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Browse Deployemnt -> Portal -> Portalapp .

Or again try to download from .bak file and upload that.

There might be a .par.bak file but it is probably just your current version. You might also find a verison under the SDM folder.

I have used the following tool to upload PAR files in the Portal.

System Administation->Support->Portal Runtime->Adiminstation Console -> Upload PAR

Do I need NWDS to upload PAR Files?

NWDS can be used to deploy PAR files, but is not mandatory.

I have downloaded the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead to the local disk.

I have made changes on a copy of original PAR file com.test.portal.navigation.masterhead.

but my fault was to upload the orginal PAR file instead of the copy par. It seems now that the original masterhead is not deployed yet.

do you now how to deploy or restart portal applications. I thought during the upload of PAR File the deployment will start.

Hi Axel,

After downloading the par file and importing it in NWDS, make sure you have included the jar files present in the lib folder.
