Key figure data not loading into backup cube.

Hi All,

I have an issue here. We use SCM 4.1

Final forecast data in planning book is not getting into back up cube. All other data is there. I ran bcak up cube again but did not go, but data is there in Planning book. I went and checked data for one material in planning area data source , no data is found. I went to planning book and opened that material and saved planning book. Now data is saved inot data source of planning area.

But not other material. I ran job Sum final forecast in background and checked spool. IT says Sum final forecast executed but data is not saved.

How do I resolve this as we need data in backup cube for users to run BEx reports.

Thanks

KV

Hi Verma ,

You did the right thing by running the final forecast job in the background. We had exactly the same situation and we solved it by explicitly running the job in the background

So to solve your problem , you have to run the background job explicity before you extract data to info cube . Also since you say final forecast iam assuming it is calculated using DP forecasting process. But if it is calculated using macros , then you have to make sure you run all the other dependent macros.

For example if your forecast key figure is in a macro an that macro uses auxillary key figures a and b to calculate the forecast. Before you run the forecast macro you have to run the macro that calculates the values of auxillary key figures a and b .

Try this out and update me .

Hi Saradha

I ran jobs for Auxillary key figures also still not getting saved in Palnning aea data source. I noticed one aucxillary key figure Target innventory has slight different formula for calculation in background job macro and default macro. And Values are coming different. But when we open planning book default macro is working and showing data according to its calculation. Not sure why different formula is used.

Any other solution for saving Planning book data into palnning area data source for pushing to infocube??

Hi Verma,

Is the final forecast keyfigure calculated using macros or does the result of statistical forecasting get saved to that key figure ? Please check that. If the final forecast is calculated using a macro , then you have to run all macros that populate the value of auxillary key figures used in the final forecast macro. After this you have to run the final forecast macro.

Once this is done you can run the extractor and check results. For now this is the only possible thing that comes to my mind. If i get any other alternative , i shall update you

Thanks

Dear KV,

Creation of remote cubes must be done in RSA1. You can create a remote cube

on the datasource you have created in /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR.

From Transaction /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR you can only create basis cubes for

backup purposes.

Program SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_TO_ICUBE can only create basis cubes.

Demand planning only provides the data source - as R/3 or any other external system as well. So you will need to perform all the steps in RSA1 that are necessary to create a remote cube from a

datasource. There is unfortunately no report that does this automatically.

I hope this helps.

Hi All,

Thanks for all you information, however even after running macros for final forecasr in backgroudn did nto work I am not able to all depenedent macros as users do no want any Inventory or calculations also to change. As this is urgnet issue for passing forecst .I oped few materisl in planning book, selected couple if important key figures, Drilled dowmn to material leval and saved.Luckily this POS has only few CVC's. Dta got save.

today After our month jobs ran everthing is looking good.
