Slow response on Citrix server with CR 2008 Runtime

Hello,

We were quite successful developing windows applications with Visual Studio 2003/2005 (vb.net) with bundled-in (basic) versions of Crystal Reports as well as version XI. All programs are installed on servers running MS Windows Server 2003 operating system with Citrix Presentation Server ver. 4.0. All the users are attached via Citrix. All appropriate Crystal Reports runtimes are installed accordingly. All applications that use Crystal Reports viewer control or print directly work just fine.

We have recently decided to upgrade to VS 2008 and CR 2008 (version 12.0). I created a very basic program consisting of one form with 2 controls on it - CR viewer control and a button to exit the program. The program work fine on the development machine (Windows XP Pro) as well as server machine under windows, but when launched in Citrix it takes about a minute for the form to show up and another minute for CR viewer control to display the report. The report is just a blank page with word "TEST" in the header section. There are no connections to any databases.

CR 2008 runtime has been installed on the Citrix server.

The same form without CR viewer control comes up instantly.

Exactly the same behavior has been observed when running a similar test with CR Basic (ver. 10.5) with corresponding runtime in the similar environment.

I have not come across any threads that discuss this particular issue. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
