Hi Uday,

Install the Oracle by login the another user. i.e. If you have installed the fisrt Oracle using Administrator user then create another user called <SID2>ADM where SID2 will be second SAP system.

It will resolve the problem.

Also work on the Disk Partations. You have C & D drive. I will recommend to install the ORACLE BINARIES on C: & the database i.e. E:\oracle\<SID2>\sapdata1...sapdata<nn> . Your SAP kernel will be installed on d:\usr\<SID2>\

Also before staring the second installation stop the first SAP system & its processes including listener.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Shambo

Hi

I have already installed oracle with server.cmd do you want me to install oracle with AMD64 rather than I386/server.cmd?

But the installation went fine without any problem all the oracle services and listner services are running fine but unable to start my old solman,my installation of NW is running fine

First, uninstall the wrong version of Oracle, then yes, install with AMD64.

Hi

Iam sory for that

Hi I have a standalone test server windowns 2003 64bit in which we have solman running and later

planned to install NWSR1 on the same without the concept of MCOD

I have only C and D drive in which D i have installed oracle and sap with solman 7

during installation of oracle i have selected 51031678\NT\AMD64\server.cmd and all went fine and i have installed solman which is working fine

later planned to installed NW so started with installing oracle and try to run 51031678\NT\AMD64\server.cmd bur strange it is not prompting for SID or patch to install the oracle it is directly installing oracle with same SID of previous oracle_home.So i tried installing oracle taking i386 for 32 it :\DUMPS\oracle10g\51031678\NT\I386\server.cmd and it went fine and i was able to install oracle with different SID and later i patched it and installed NWSR1 which was successfully done, during the installtion i have selected listner port as 1537 already my previous listner is 1527. Now i have two oracle homes under D drive D:\oracle\N6P D:\oracle\XYZ During installation my solman sytem was not up later when i try to start its not comming up dispatcher went down, both the listner are running fine i cross checked in services.msc tried to start the lisnter manually and started it they are runnig fine I crossed checked the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora all are pointing towards right SID and host but still my sap is not comming up i check the with command r3trans -d

D:\>r3trans -d

This is r3trans version 6.14 (release 700 - 25.01.08 - 14:11:00).

unicode enabled version

2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE --- dbs_o

try this:

Start -> Run -> CMD

set ORACLE_SID=ZZZ

set ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\ZZZ\102

D:\51031678\NT\AMD64\server.cmd

this will install on a new ORacle home.

Hi

yes. with Oracle, you use differnet SID, different system number and different Oracle_home

I have a test server installed with Solman with database oracle 10g, if i want to install another SAP version asume that NWSR3 how should i change my ORACLE_HOME ?

I have 2 drives C and D in which oracle and SAP is installed on D how should i proceed if i try to install oracle it prompts as Oracle home already exist,

what about the environement variables entires which are pointing towards my old oracle_home ?

you leave ORACLE_HOME and PATH containing Oracle references to the user environement variable.

then, when installing new installing new instance, you choose a different ORACLE_HOME. you can put both ORACLE_HOMEs on the same disks, but obviously, paths must be different.
