Sanjay,

Product Cost Collectors are basically CO-Production Orders where the Settlement happens periodically. The advantage or Product Cost Collectors is that you can have the cost estimate and cost posting happen based on the Individual Production Versions. This is not possible in direct Production Orders.

Sanjay,

In Discrete Mfg, if you are not using the Product Cost Collectors, the Production order(CO03) itself would have a settlement rule, with MAT- Material as settlement reciever.

Whereas if you have Product Cost Collectors, the Product Cost Collectors would have a CO- Production Order(KKF3) Linked to it to which the Costs are settled Periodically and finally gets settled to MAT- Material,

Prasobh
