Hi,

ODBC on Unix can't talk to MS Access. Please read the section "Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Dashboard and Analytics Data Sources" in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Supported Platforms document for Solaris/Linux/Hp-Ux. These documents are availabe at [http://service.sap.com/support]

For reference, please find Supported Platforms document for Linux at [https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001671482008E.PDF]

Hope this helps and clarifies.

Hi,

Following information might be useful for resolving the issue.

Download the latest DataDirect 5.3 ODBC drivers from the SAP support portal.

Read the included pdf on how to install the optional drivers

Data Direct ODBC drivers for all supported operating systems are located:

https://service.sap.com/bosap-supportsw

In the drop down selection critera choose:

Software Product > Business Objects Enterprise

Product Version > XI 3.0 (not XI 3.1)

Software Type > Utility

Thanks for your response Sarbhjeet,

I downloaded the unix odbc drivers and it would appear that there are no drivers specifically for MS Access. This is the list:

u2022 DB2 Wire Protocol driver

u2022 Microsoft SQL Server Wire Protocol driver

u2022 Oracle driver

u2022 Oracle Wire Protocol driver

u2022 Sybase Wire Protocol driver

u2022 Informix driver (only for Windows)

u2022 Informix Wire Protocol driver

u2022 XML driver (only for Windows)

u2022 Text driver

I'm wondering where to turn next?

You cannot report off a MS Access database with a XI 3.0 system deployed on a Unix platform. There is no connectivity supported for that.

Hi there,

when you say "not supported", does this mean it definitely won't work? With a google search, I see people offering ODBC drivers for MS Access....has anything used any of these drivers?

Also I note that the DataDirect drivers available for download from the SAP Marketplace appear to be for Crystal only - can I use these for web intelligence as well? Will these drivers work on a XIR2 deployment?
