how to import the transport from qa to dev

Have a question?

I want to move a transport from qa to dev,so how is it possible?

well... release the transport and copy the cofile and the datafile to the respective trans directories in the target system (DEV)... then just go to STMS -> Extras -> Add request -> enter the request and import

By the way.. usually transporting from qa to dev this is not recommended.

I am aware of this but have one doubt,what transport package should be assigned to the transport request

This is what is confusing me

well yes SAP doesnt recommend it but we have a requirement from BI team and couldnt help but just do it

sorry I mean transport layer

like we have two transport layers:SAP and Z<sid> in our system

so If I make a transport in quality it should be assigned directly to z<sid> transport layer and then when I release it and then import it in dev using the method u said earlier,will it be ok?

or do I need to assign a different transport layer to the request in qa system

If you release it from QA it will be assigned to the transport layer setup in STMS, so most likely will be release to the delivery route to production... it will still create a cofile and datafile...

Is there any way that you can replicate the changes in your BI QA to your BI DEV without transporting them?

If its coding you can export and import and basically recreate the program in DEV.

What is exactly that they need to transport?
