Automatic batch determination problem

Hello ,

I am trying to configure automatic batch determination.

I am using the 'shelf life'(LOBM_VFDAT) as charcteristics . The GR is done for finished and semi finished products with the shelf life as characteristics.

While doing goods issue to order of finished product in MB1A , system does not automaticaly select the batch with FIFO(shelf life expiry date) but it allows to do manualy.

I have defined the 'strategy type ' for process order and assigned 'class' and 'sort seq' in it.

Standard search procedure is used. The search procedure is assigned in 'CORC ' to plant and 'order type'.

In CU70 the sort rule is defined and charcteristics assigned (LOBM_VFDAT).In COB1 the condition records mauintained for combination of order type, plant and material. The clas and characetristic values are assigned to this combination. In COR4 the search procedure is assigned.

In MRP3 the value for batch entry is 'blank ' as we want batch determination in good issue .

Kindly suggest if some settings are missing.

Thanks & Regards

Abhijit S Nakhwa

    Hi Abhijit,

Problme is at your Master Data Part and configuration part both.

For doing Batch Detertmination at the time of Goods Issue,

    1) You have to Maintain Batch Determination Strategy using T.Code MBC1 and not with COB1.

    2) You have to Maintain your Batch Determination Procedure (Which includes the different condition tabels required for Batch Determination Strategy) for Movement type(261/201) using T.Code OMCG.

    • Hi,

I have a similar issue, If you could able to explain how are you able to get the batches determined it will be of great help for me.

Just to give you background of my scenario:

I am trying to to perform batch determination for process order. I see i have batches available in stock.

And my selection criteria is below:

      LOBM_RLZ ( Remaining shelf life for batches) - 3d

      LOBM_LFDAT (Batch determin. delivery date) - 02.02.2010 ( mm/dd/yyy format)

      LOBM_VFDAT ( Expiration date, shelf life) - 05.02.2010

Batch classification view in MSC3N shows following data:

Date of last goods receipt - 27.01.2010

Expiration date, shelf life - 22.01.2011

      Status shows 'Released'

Batch serch strategy is maintained in COB1 for order type, plant, and material

Please suggest me why i am unable to determine batches in process order. Any inputs whould be of great help. - Many thanks!

      Regards

      Seshu

    Hi

you are using batch determinatation in MB1A..Hence you have to create Batch search strategy in MBC1 but not in COB1.

accordingly you have change your search procedure & search strategy.

Pl. go ahead on these lines.

      Hi,

Check the batch class assigned for both the material type with same characteristics, if so then for the SFG material batch master(msc2n) go to the classification view and click the "set classification status".

If the above said is not working check your selection criteria in MBC2 i.e date of last GR is maintained as a characteristic(LGRDAT) or check it in the batch class.

      Regards,
