Depreciate by certain percentage

My client wants all the assets old and new from one asset class to be written down by designated percentage for beginning of the current year, fiscal year is April to Mar. And later it should be depreciated as normal. This should be affected only for book depreciation area.

How do we handle this? Any response is appreciated. .

Setup a multilevel method with the percentage that you need depreciated and assign it to the depreciation key used on that asset class for book1

Hi Siva,

Thanks for quick reply.

Will this work for already depreciated assets? I mean we have some old assets acquired in 2004 or 2005 and depreciated straight line method with 10 year useful life. Now they want reduce these assets by certain % starting of the current year (fiscal Apr to march) for Book dep Area. And then later it should continue to depreciate as earlier.

Any answer will be really helpful.

this should be possible. instead of giving 9999 in the year, specify the year 2009 and setup the multilevel method.

I am not in front of a system, but test it to see if it works.

Hi Siva,

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.

We had only few assets which needed to be depreciated by certain %. So we did it manually by posting unplanned depreciation. Tcode: ABAA. We used transaction type 641 (to post it only for book Dep area).

Thanks once again for your help.
