Struggling with Server.Create Object Failed Error Message

Former Member

Greetings (again) experts.

This is my second post.

My first post (about installating issues) yesterday didn't go very well as I didn't any help.

But not to wory, I am trying again.

I have spent 2 days now trying to figure out why I am getting the following errors:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

\Reports\inc\AlwaysRequiredSteps.asp, line 14.

Line 14 is here:

Set session("oApp") = Server.CreateObject("CrystalRuntime.Application11.5")

Does anyone please tell me what is causing this error?

I am using classic asp.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same problem.

We just migrated to Windows Server 2003 64-bit and are running Crystal Reports Server XI (11.5) ... which I have already found DOES support 64-bit but runs as a 32-bit application.

Crystal Reports Server is running perfectly and can access the CMC, administration tools, and all servers are running and enabled.

However from an IIS website that is using an asp viewer I receive the following message:

ActiveX component can't create object: 'CrystalReports.ObjectFactory'

I have done endless searches on Google to no avail... and I am completely confused at how the SAP/ business objects support actually works now. I think I read an article that said they no longer offered support after July 2008 unless a support contract was purchased.

If someone knows of how to fix this, or has come across this problem, I would appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Kristopher

I am a newbie myself, however - think you may get a better response if you mention which products are involved and a bit more about the environment.

Also, there is a forum for legacy SDK's that may be better suited to this particular question: /community [original link is broken]

Hi

Thanks for your response.

I did indicate that I am using classic ASP.

So to add to that, the ASP will be interacting with crystal reports XI.

Does that help?

I will also check the legacy forum.

I didn't know that ASP is now treated as a legacy technology but I will check.

Thanks for responding to my thread.
