Create customer return order through Q1 Quality Notification

Dear experts,

when trying to generate a Return Order through Quality Notifcation type Q1, it is not being created and I am getting the error message QM222. See details below.

To trigger the return order creation I am just selecting the option "Create Returns Order" form the action box and in the subsequent popup selecting the RE2 Order Type, the corresponding delivery/item line, and clicking on "Save notification and order" option.

All the customizing is the standard one ("Create Returns Order" has assigned the Function Module QM06_ADV_RETURNS_CREATE) without any change, so dont know what could be wrong / missed.

Any idea about that?

Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks a million.

Jose.

Cannot create customer returns order

Diagnosis

Errors occurred when you tried to create the advanced return. The task was probably not created as a follow-up function.

System Response

No advanced return is created.

Procedure

Check whether the task was created as a follow-up function, change the notification if necessary, and implement the follow-up function Create Returns Order again.

Details about errors are logged in the long text for follow-up actions.

Hello Jose,

I had the same problem and manage to solve it with luck and good SD consultant.

First of all you should check inside your notifications tasks tab for problem. For each "Create Returns Order" selection a task is added in notification and processed. When you got the error, go inside notification and find related task and double click it. When you double click you will see ADV_RET as follow-up function and a note icon along with it. When you click note icon it will give you information about problem.

For example; in my case information was "No item category available (Table T184 RE2 0002 )" and it was about item categories defined by SD department for advanced returns. Item category given in material master data should be defined in sales document: item categories type.

Your problem may be different then this but checking it with this way will lead you to solution.

i don't know off hand but I tend to find that many clients have enhancements and customizations surrounding their processing of deliveries, including return deliveries.

Keep in mind that the routines and FM's provided by SAP for use in action boxes are extremely generic and are meant primarily to serve as examples for clients. Most FM's need some tweaking to make them work for a given implementation and they don't work straight out of the box unless you are using almost plain vanilla SAP out of the box.

My suggestion would be to get a developer to degbug the issue. Then copy the provided FM's to "Z" function modules and change them as needed to satisfy your system.
