Resolving chasam trap creates multiple tables instead of one in WEBI report. Why?

Summary :

While creating a report from a single query(having objects from 4 different tables) in WebI creates three different tables instead of one. Tried creating my own table by dragging the objects but it wont let me bring all objects from three table into one table.

Explanation:

I am currently working on a universe, the design in the data foundation is as below:

It has a main table in the center and other tables and dimension tables are linked to it as well. To the other tables from the main table the cardinality is 0-N. Since almost all the tables linked to the main table create a chasm trap between each other hence I have created a context for all the tables, to avoid data inflation, as in the image below:

In the data foundation I have Multiple SQL statements for each contexts option checked

Following parameters are set in data foundation :

I have simply created a business layer on top of this and am working on a report. While working on a report I have objects from three different tables including the main table. When I bring all the objects In one query in the report it creates three different tables.

How can I resolve this issue so that I can bring all the objects(dimensions/measures) in one table with correct data?

Warm Regards,

Bassam Jamil

The seperate table blocks are from objects selected from different contexts. Basically an object can be defined as a combination of columns from multiple tables, but those columns must be in the same context. Have you defined a context for each fact table? Are the objects all of measure type? If so you can select mutliple sql for measures.

    • Thank you for your response Jacqueline.

Yes I have defined a context for all the fact tables. And no all the objects are not measures in a particular table, in some of the tables all the objects are all dimensions and in some there is a mix of measures and dimensions. But there is no such table where all the objects are measures.

So how can i bring objects selected from different contexts into a single block then? Because when removing all the contexts the data comes in a single block but the measures values are inflated.
