Dear all,
I have installed IPS 4.5, DS 4.2 SP10 and IS 4.2 SP10 on a Linux Redhat Server 7.3 and used the SQLAnywhere Database which is installed per default as the repository database.
I have reinstalled the tools from scratch, however, the problem I am facing persists and consists of following error message that I receive when testing a saved rule within the validation rule editor:
The validation rule consists of a a simple not NULL query.
Additionally, I ran the the InstallUtility tool to recreate the IS_REPO which was installed and configured during standard installation. This did not solve the issue either. Does anybody have additional ideas from where this issue might be arising?
Thanks in advance for you your help -
Best regards,
Julian
You use smth unsupported - most likely datasource / OS or repo. I got exactly the same error and in my case the cause was unsupported database version IQ16.1 It is funny when SAP does not support their own software. Do NOT delete anything from repository as Julian suggests, this can corrupt the repo

Dear Mikel,
after Installing the same components on a Windows Server strictly following PAM compatibilities, the same issue arises. For me it seems like SQLAnywhere 17 and the Default IS Repository installed and configured during the automated Installation process is not working properly. Adding an additional primary key to the mentioned table gets rid of the error and has not raised any issues within the application until now. Just in case anybody else is installing IS on the bundled SQLAnywhere DB as per Default.

Looks like the repository tables are corrupt. If possible you can use the ISRepositoryUtility tool to reset the contents of your repository.
On Windows platforms ISRepositoryUtility.bat is installed to the <SAP_BusinessObjects>\InformationSteward\MM\bin directory by default.

Temporary Workaround is to manually removing the Primary Keys from the Installation Default IS Repository of AL_INDEX table. Not sure if they are set errorneously by the installation program

Generally speaking, that is a dangerous step to take when you (apparently) don't know what the real problem is.
...but, I know even less
...I don't know anything about "IPS 4.5, DS 4.2 SP10 and IS 4.2 SP10"
...so I'll shut up now 🙂
