Hello all,
We have created an inbound asynchronous ABAP Proxy in SAP ECC. The Proxy is called by SAP PI and the SAP PI environment (adapter engine, integration engine, business process engine) is completely monitored via the alerting framework. Now we are wondering how we can monitor the ABAP proxy when it goes into an error at the SAP ECC side. The ABAP Proxy gives an error in the SAP ECC transaction sxmb_moni (red flag). Does SAP ECC contain the alerting framework, too? Or can we connect it to the alerting framework of SAP PI? How can we monitor the ABAP Proxy processing via the alerting framework?
kind regards,
Mark van Dooren
Hi Mark,
I am not sure if this can be handled using the standard alerting framewwork, but you can trigger mails from the ABAP source code itself, in case of exceptions.

Hi Ravi,
We have the alerting framework of SAP PI integrated with our helpdesk tool. When a message goes into error, an incident is automatically generated in the helpdesk tool and the incident management process is triggered. Now we want to monitor and alert the errors in the ABAP Proxy in the same way via the alerting framework, but we don't know how to connect these errors to the alerting framework.

Hi Seshagiri,
Does a SAP ECC environment contain a complete Alerting framework environment? When we can use alert rules and alert categories on the SAP ECC system, we can create a second alerting framework implementatie which sends its alerts to the central CCMS monitoring on SAP PI or Solution Manager.
kind regards,
