How to get keys for deleted namespace

Hello,

we have a bunch of old programs stored in a packet that belonged to a namespace that was deleted during an upgrade two years ago.

Now we need to edit one of those but the packet as well as namespace does not exist anymore.

I thought it would be simple, restore the namespace then the packet and modify the program.

The problem is that the namespace does not exist on the system, so I tried to create it i namespaces application. The application is telling me that namespace is already created but when i try to search it, no result is found.

So basicaly I have program i need to update but i can't because of deleted namespace. I can't create that namespace again because I'm not able to get develop or repair keys.

can anyone please advise me how to get out of this?

Thank you very much!

Martin

Hi,

Can't you just copy the program in a suitable namespace and then update it?

Kind regards, Rob Dielemans

Sure, I can do it, I just hoped there would be some cleaner way to put things right. 🙂

Hi Martin,

One reason of namespaces is that in the event of an upgrade your custom work wouldn't be overwritten. I'm guessing the chance that this functionality will be upgraded in the near future is 0 percent.

"The application is telling me that namespace is already created but when i try to search it, no result is found."

This doesn't sound right. Check support.sap.com, and if necessary create a message.
