Interact with BI Launchpad from Sharepoint Hosted .NET based Application

Hi,

We are building a .NET based web application which will be hosted on SharePoint 2013. We are using SAP BO BI 4.1 SP2 for reporting. On that application there will be a section for Reporting which will contain hyperlinks of report names. After clicking on the name, the corresponding BO report should open in the same page and it could be refreshed, filtered and user can export it in .pdf and .xlsx format. Also, they want to schedule the reports from that application. The authentication should be 2 factor authentication.

If we keep 2 factor authentication aside for now, I was thinking of implementing it using OpenDocument feature of BO. But I don't think it can provide scheduling function on .NET application. I think another way of doing it is using .NET SDKs. But I have no clue about how to implement it. Google also gives information in bits and pieces. I have been completely into BO development and never had any idea about .NET programming. Can someone please suggest the most suitable way with steps of implementing it. It will be a great help.

    Hello Sherya,

If you want to provide scheduling access through .NET application then you need to open BO Launch Pad folder through .NET application.

You have to open BO Launch pad inside .NET application and ask user to work the way they work with normal Launch Pad.

    Work around:

For report refresh, filter and export it in .pdf and .xlsx format you can go as per way you are going. In addition when user open report (through Open Document ) as per existing logic you can add one Button at top of the Window as "Schedule this Report" and provide Folder Link (same as Open Document) which will open the Folder where Report is kept directly and user can Schedule the report as per trditional way.

P.S: I believe Access control is already been taken into consideration.

    Regards,

    Sushil Padhye
