Fiori retrofitted in EHP 7 or EHP 8 - What to do on Upgrade from EHP 6

Hi all,

we are currentyl try to update a sandbox system (copy of our production system) from EHP 6 to EHP 8. We have installed the following backend components for several Fiori apps:

  • GBAPP002 600 0011
  • SRA001 600 0008
  • SRA020 600 0009
  • GBX02EAP 600 0004

Now our Basis tried to deinstall the said components which (of course, if you think about it) caused errors as we implemented several BAdIs which came with those components like "ZCL_BADI_GBAPP_APV_PO_MDP" which uses the interface "IF_GBAPP_EX_APV_PO_MDP".

My question goes along this:

What would be the best practice on upgrading from EHP 6 with several Fiori related backend components (read Add-Ons) to a then EHP 8 where most of those Add-Ons are retrofitted? Would SAP handle those Add-Ons and my custom coding (BAdI implementations) within the update process?

I know about https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/0002314690 and already asked basis to check if this applies

Thanks and kind regards

Jens

Just for the sake of completeness: There are this two notes https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2465146 + https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2167814 that deal with retrofitting / adopting Components (including Fiori) to EHP8.

However, they do not say anything about the process. In the sandbox it turned out that e.g.GBAPP002 600 would not turn out in the final stack recommendation of the maintenance planner while GBX02EAP 600 does... We'll have to ask SAP about that.

Will try to come back here and update
