Hi
every body
I have one query
Storage bin structure 01-01-01 to 01-01-05 is created and 5 bins are created in customising
After creating all bin in this interval can I create new bin with 01-01-10
If possible what it is the meaning of customization and range crated in it?
2) if I have 2 storage bin type lets say
E1- 1 meter
E2- 2 meter.
Now I have created storage bin structure with E1 - Storage bin 01-01-01 to 01-01-05 and 5 bins are created
Now if I am changing storage bin type field of any storage bin like 01-01-03 manually in LS02n as E2 then system is accepting
How to restrict this
As one can understand if 5 bins I have created with 1 meter and now as I can change one of them into 2 meter logically in structure it should not allowed
If I want to restrict this how can I restrict?
Kindly reply as early as possible
Thanks .
It was good joint effort BUt now i want to post this to sap and make this loking from sap side .
How can i post to them

Hi,
I'm afraid there's no solution for this in standard system.

Hi,
Your explanation was very clear, hopefully I understand it in the proper way: you would like to group storage bins and define & freeze the values of certain field at group level (storage bin type).
(This would be similar to MRP group in production planning.)
I'm not aware of any standard solution or BADI to achieve your goal, if you want to realize it I'm afraid you have to go to development.
You have to see that storage bins are master data in SAP, so they shouldn't be modified unless you have reason to do it. If someone still decides to modify them, they should be aware of what they are doing...
It's clear that you would like to reduce the chance to make mistakes. But generally, storage bins shouldn't be changed frequently, so even if there's no such tool in SAP what you want (as per my best knowledge), I don't think it would be a big problem. Of course, if your bins are always changing (physically, and thus in SAP), a solution suggested by you would be very useful.

Csaba
