Adobe Form translation in to different languages in SAP Cloud Plateform

Former Member

Hi All,

Can you please guide me through the procedure/process of "how to translate Adobe forms in to a different languages in SAP Cloud Platform" .

I know that the Adobe form can be translated to different languages using the 'Translation' option in the SFP transaction. But this is disabled for the S/4HANA Adobe standard/Custom forms.

Also I have seen in the 'Maintain Form' app that there are different forms for different languages

Does this mean that there is no translation in S/4HANA 1709 version?

Kindly Suggest.

Thanks.

Hi,

before going into details, please make sure you are really using an "On Cloud Solution", because it's slighty different then the "On Primse Solution".

In general:
In S/4HANA we have a new output management (OM) for forms. By default it uses an advanced technology of the SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe. It called "form templates with fragments" (https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2292646). If you want to print out of Fiori you need to enable the new OM.

On Cloud:
If you are using "On Cloud" solution you should be able to translate your forms by using this IT-Setup guide (https://cp.hana.ondemand.com/dps/d/preview/6029d1035487452d858f1cdf229f4af1/1508/en-US/frameset.html?f19de38861ed43b091fef98ac560960c.html#loio4f6012059b1a4eb18505857b86d8e9d5). You need to download a standard form, translate it manually and offline with Adobe Lifecycle Designer 10.4 (or better) and upload back it into your SAP.

On Premise:
You can enable or disable the new OM. If enabled you shouldn't use the SAP GUI anymore. All functions are in the Fiori launchpad. Here you find an app called "Maintain Form Templates". You'll find the available languages in this app for your form.

If the new OM is disabled or you don't use the advanced Forms with fragments, you can use the classic way in creating and designing your forms. Note, all "old" form technologies are still available (SAPScript, Smartforms and the classic SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe)
