S/4 HANA on-premise 1610 Conversion and Material Ledger

Hello all,

our current System is EHP 7 without activated Material Leder (ML). In S/4-1610 it's activation is mandatory before according to the simplification list, and actual costing is optional.
Is it possible to activate the Material Ledger only "technically" and implement functions like parallel valuation, currencies or actual costing in a further project after a migration to S/4 ?

Best Regards,

Dear Andreas,

What does it mean "technically"?

If you do not want to use material ledger in the first phase, yes it is possible.

When you implement 1610 or by a conversion project go-live, the material ledger is going to be activated at transaction-based(2) automatically. It means you do not to be obliged to use parallel valuation and actual costing at the beginning but you can use several standard material ledger screens such as CKM3N and reports.

Hi, I can't subsequently introduce parallel valuation. It's possible via SLO or may be in the next release
