Errors MUT-03025, FCO-00011 while inst. SAP NW AS ABAP 7.51 SP02 on openSUSE

#ABAP_Trial

Hello,

Installing SAP NW AS ABAP 751 SP02 - Developer Edition on openSUSE Leap 42.3:

I unzipped the downloaded RAR-files.
After unzipping the RAR-files there is no directory "sybase/NPL/SYSAM-2_0/licenses“. So I installed the server without replacing the file "SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic“
After installing the server I got the error-message „Unable to verify database access for login SAPSR3“. But now there is a directory named "sybase/NPL/SYSAM-2_0/licenses“. So I replaced the file „SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic“ with the downloaded newer one ( user sybnpl / group sapsys / rights -rwxr-x— ) and repeated the server installation.
After repeating the server installation I got error-messages "… id=modlib.jslib.caughtException errno=MUT-03025 …“ and „… id=controller.stepExecuted errno=FCO-00011 …“. with the note „To solve that problem start the installation without using SAPINST_START_GUI option“. But I had started the installation without SAPINST_START_GUI option! So I don't understand these message! I had a look in log-files but I didn’t find any solution. So I don’t know what to do now.

Is there anybody who is able to help me? Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,

Fred

    Hi Fred,

There should be some log files in /tmp/sapinst_instdir . Please send us the errors in these files. Please do not send the whole files!
Then we can investigater the error. However, I am on vacation for 2 weeks so there will be a delay.

    Best wishes Julie.

    Hello Fred,

    From the error :

Running an installation on this distribution of linux is not supported by SAP in any way!

Please start the sapinst with parameter SAPINST_SLP_MODE=false:

    ./sapinst SAPINST_SLP_MODE=false

    Hello Manjunath,

Thank you very much for your answer! Now I installed SAP with the parameter SAPINST_SLP_MODE=false (1. sudo -i 2. cd .sapinst/ 3. SAPINST_SLP_MODE=false 4. Result: no error-messages). After Installation I got the same error-messages as previously installed! Then I replaced the file SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic and repeated the installation. Then I got error-messages again (attachment sapinst_log_errors.txt)!

Is there any possibility to replace the file SYBASE_ASE_TestDrive.lic before installation? Then I don't have to install SAP twice. I guess it could be a problem with the users/passwords during the second installation? Or what can I do to solve the problem?

    Best regards,

    Fred

    Hello Manjunath,

Thank you very much for your answer! I'm sorry for my late answer! But I had no time. Now I would like to attach sapinst_dev.log but the file is too big (15 MB). Can I send you an e-mail or what I should do?

    Best Regards,

    Fred

Hi Fred, I've looked this up in SAP Notes:

2037606 - Temporary database based on the specified soft binding could not be assigned - SAP ASE

If you can't access this, it just says:

    "Reproducing the Issue

Two ways to reproduce this issue are:

    1. Users attempt to log in before the boot cycle has finished and the tempdbs are not yet online.

    2. The boot order is as such that the tempdb is not available at the time the soft binding is being executed.

    Cause

These log entries are normal and occur when a user login is soft-bound to a user-defined temporary database group but there are no active databases in the group (e.g. databases did not recover). ASE then seeks out a database in the default group and writes an entry in the log.

    Resolution

These message can normally be ignored. You should see the tempdbs working - once the server has fully come online."

Sorry to ask the very obvious: But can you get in? If not, please let me know. However, I fear that our team will say that this is an ASE-specific issue. So the fastest way may be to post a question in the ASE:

    https://www.sap.com/community/topic/ase.html

Let me know how you get on, even though we cannot promise to help.

    Best wishes Julie.

    Hi Julie,

Thank you very much for your answer! Now I attached the result of 'startsap ALL'.

I've got problems to set the following profile parameters: 'icm/host_name_full=$(SAPLOCALHOST).dummy.nodomain' and 'PHYS_MEMSIZE=30%' in Linux.

I tried to connect the SAP-Server from another computer in the same WLAN. But I don't know the right proxy settings in VirtualBox for this scenario. The virtual machine for the SAP Application Server is on a macbook pro and I would like to connect the SAP Application Server from a Windows PC I don't know what ip I have to use in the proxy settings from VirtualBox (mac) and for the SAP GUI (win-pc)?

With the Java-client on the macbook I got errors also. I also don't know the right settings for the Java SAPGUI. I can't make the same settings (Appl. Server = 127.0.0.1 / Instance = 00 / System ID = NPL). There I have to set 'Group/Server' at least. But there is no choice and I can't make an entry. Now I have tried it with a configuration file with the ending .sapc (conn=/H/127.0.0.1/S/3200). But it didn't work. Please have a look at the attached file with the error message. Thank you very much for your help!

    Best Regards,

    Fred

    Hi Julie,

I also tried to install it on a windows-pc with VirtualBox and SAPGUI on the same system. But I also can't get in!

    Hi Fred,

By default, the guide (Installing ABAP AS 752 SP01 on Linux) connects to the Linux VM in VBox using NAT. This means the VM cannot be seen on the network.

If you want to see the VM, you need to use Bridged. It's probably worth looking at the VBox manual, chapter 6.5, but here is what worked for me:

    • 1.In Virtual Box Manager, select the VM, go to Network -> Bridged
    • 2.In the openSUSE instance, open Terminal and find your IP address using sudo ifconfig
    • 3.Then enter this IP address mapping in the hosts file using sudo nano /etc/hosts (and comment out the NAT entry):

    <IP Address in form nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn> vhcalnplci vhcalnplci.dummy.nodomain

    • 4.Restart your openSUSE instance.
    • 5.Update your Windows hosts file with the new IP address mapping (and comment out the NAT entry).
    • 6.Change your SAPLogon entry from 127.0.0.1 to <ipAddress>

BTW, since this is a new question, could you please create a new question. It helps others to search in future, and may alert a greater number of experts to your issue. Thanks

    HTH. Julie.
