Transport of SAP Analytics cloud model and stories using CTS

OSS note 2538909 states there is no automated way of transporting models, stories in SAP Analytics cloud from test to production tenant.

Can CTS be used for exporting and importing objects & data?

No, I believe currently you need to use import/export options under the Deployment menu

Are you looking for Solution Manager type integration with SAC? My guess is it is not there, as Solution Manager is an on-premise solution whereas Analytics Cloud is a cloud solution. This is my take only...

do you know if there was any progress since then?

I am looking for any approaches that are more state-of-the-art like connecting an GIT-repository.
My thinking is that it would be very helpful to align the deployment processes over all the products.

Seeing export/import seems to be fine for a playground scenario, but I do have doubts that this is very reliable in a productive environment.
