Source Inspection and Status profile

hello gurus,

I understand we have STD ins types as 0101 0102 01 for procurement.When I configured the status profile for model inspectionu2026I have assigned 0101 0102 inspection types in quality info record to control my inspection lots at GR.I have defined one status profile and assigned 0101 0102 and it is working fine.

At the same time we also have source inspection u2026So I did assign 0101 and pull

Up the source inspection type in info record and flagged the source inspection GR.

As we need to run the qi07 for source inspection which will trigger the ins lot

At purchase order level u2026I am not sure how would status profile react ?

I am confused with source inspection and status profile because of same ins

Type 0101.

My recommendation will be

1) Use 0130 for source inspection as this standardly used for source inspection.

2) Status profile react to only Good receipt inspection. They will not have any effect if you are doing source inspection. Status of the model inspection will changed only after you give UD for the good receipt lot

3) Still if you want to use 0101 inspection type both for source inspection and for model inspection you can go with it. Source inspection will create lot with 0101 and GR will take the status accordingly but the system will pick up the same usage from inspection plan for Both. It will be wise to use different inspection type as the checking parameter in amodel inspection and source inspection will vary.
