Hey guys
i am trying to get some information about the BIA. I found quite a lot of stuff but after reading, several questions came to my mind and i cant find the answer
So here are the things i did not quite understand
1: i came across many different terms and i couldnt find a clear definition of
what is and what is the difference BIA-Server
BIA-instance
BIA-System
BIA-Installation
and where on the shipped box are those things installed
or is it like this BIA-Server= BIA-instance= BIA-System
2: I know this may be part of the hardware vendors part but maybe there is some information about
hardware limitations/optimal usage regarding the number of servers, instances, system, installations that can be installed on one blade
thats it
I hope you can answer these questions
regards
Matthias

still no idea??? thought it's kind of an easy question,
hope anybody's got n idea
Hi Matthias,
Re 1:
In SAP "instance" is rather logical definition of some system. With regards of BW Accelerator, I think the proper would be "BWA-System". Each BWA Installation has multiple blades, each of those blades is a server. But on one BWA Installation you might have multiple BWA Instances (but not for Production!!)
Re 2:
One blade can participate in only one BWA Instance.
Hope this helps,

1. BIA has one master and one backup blade and the rest of the blades are instances...
2. It is delivered to you as a sealed box and hardware limitations etc are provider dependent..
