Restrictions on characteristics based on classes in MM02

Hello Experts,

We have requirement to restrict class and its characteristics in the material master for different users.

Let me try to explain you with example.There are two classes as shown below.

1.REVIT (Class)

2.ECXXXXXX(ETIM - classes)

If USER - X1 has access to ADD/DEL/UPDATE REVIT class and its characteristics then it should not have access to ADD/DEL/UPDATE ECXXXXXX class and its characteristics via MM01/MM02.Same goes with other user.

If USER - X2 has access to ADD/DEL/UPDATE ECXXXXXX class and its characteristics then it should not have access to ADD/DEL/UPDATE REVIT class and its characteristics via MM01/MM02

To some extent, we managed the restrictions on classes (on the basis of their classification), however we find no solution to apply this restriction on characteristic level. Can someone please suggest us how to achieve this requirement?

Please look at using organization areas. You can assign an organizational value to each characteristic. So characteristics assigned a Q organizational value can only be accessed by those with the Q authorization. Characteristics assigned say R can only be accessed by those assigned the R authorization.

In the class header screen you put in the allowed organization areas. Then on the characteristics tab, you assign the organizational areas to the applicable characteristics.

The you update the users security profiles.
