The URL does not contain full domain specification

Hello Everyone,

I have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version successfully and have been using it for ABAP programming and testing. However When I try to test the BSP service I am getting follwoing error message in web browser.

The URL does not contain full domain specification (aarya-pc instead aarya-pc. <domain>. <ext>).

Any idea why I am getting this error? Any help is very much appreciated.

Hi Durairaj,

I followed all the steps as per your blog.

My Computer Name is 'Aarya-PC.mycompany.com'

They solved my earlier error but now when I try to test the BSP Application 'IT00', the system is not asking for a login/password and I get error 'Link appears broken'.

I noticed two things..

1. Even though I have maintained Aarya-PC.mycompany.com (mixed case) as 'icm/host_name_full' paramter value, the browser url contains aarya-pc.mycompany.com (all lower case). Is this normal?

2. If I replace the FQDN (Aarya-PC.mycompany.com) with 'localhost', it works perfectly.

Any idea why am I experiancing this behaviour?

But it is working perfectly for WebDynpro Applications. I don't even have to change it to localhost.

Hi Amit,

Please check the parameter icm/host_name_full in your system.

Go to RZ11 > check what's the parameter value. this should contain the fully qualified domain name.
