How do I convert the file to UTF-8 encoding in PI?

Hello, PI Experts:

The scenario is that we are sending a text file with special characters from our SAP ECC system to a vendor's SFTP through PI. However, the vendor is claiming that the special characters get jumbled up because the file comes into their SFTP with UTF-8 without BOM encoding. She says that it is fine once she manually opens and saves the file with UTF-8 encoding.

So, how can I make sure that in PI the file is getting encoded with UTF-8 and not UTF-8 without BOM? This is a SOAP to SFTP adapter set-up in PI, by the way.

Kind regards,

Elna Hantalasevic

To specify, these special characters are like è, ö, and ó. How do I get these to appear properly in the file being sent from our SAP ECC system to the vendor's SFTP?
