In C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData or equivalent on *Nix in file called inventory.txt
or in the Installmanifest.sqlite file in the same location (need SQLite viewer) or in Programs and Features....

Denis,

Thanks for your time. We currently have version SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 7 Patch 1 Version: 14.1.7.1933

From screen shot section SBOP BI PlATFORM SERVER 4.2, I was asking what is the relationship between patch level and our version which is above .

Suppose If I have to update the software to 4.2 SP 5 patch 5, what is thepatch level I have to choose and verify? Just confused how patch level is related to Patch ?

Appreciate your time and help.

This is the link where I made copy of screen shot : https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/0002564603

Ok, now I understand - you have an issue, which is fixed in the listed versions and you're confused which one you need
To get the fix you can go to any of the listed - 4.2 Sp4 Patch 6 or to 4.2 Sp5 patch 100 or to 4.2 Sp6.
Each of the 3 will have the fix you need.

To avoid confusion - review following KBA's

till SP4, patch level is the patch number.

from SP5+, patch level = patch number x 100 (patch 1 = patch level 100, P 2 = PL 200, and so on)

if there are hotfix, then the patch level = patch level + hotfix number (ex. hotfix 3 for patch 3: --> patch level: Px100+hotfix = 303)

and if Patch Level=0 then it is a new SP

and to get which Patch and SP from version number see:

1602088 - Which version number corresponds to which patch / SP for SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.x ?

Just one more question Ayman.

When do they provider RAR file and when EXE files?

The files are compressed and dependent on the size provided in one or more self-extracted files (maximum size 4 GB / per file).

so, the first one has extension "EXE", and the following files has extension "PAR". (as in screenshot, notice "SP06 update 1/2" and "SP06 update 2/2")

To extract, just double-click on the first file (xxxxx.exe) and it will extract all the files.
