Character Limit in SAP BPC Comments

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to have more than 256 characters when posting a BPC text comment using the EVCOM() function through BPC for Excel with SAP BPC 5.1 or SAP BPC 7.0 M? If so what is the limit? Do I need a specific version of Excel i.e. Excel 2007? and is there any database configuration that will need to be done?

Hello,

You cannot have more than 256 characters for a comment. This is the column size for Comment<App>.COMMENT column, the place where comments are saved into database.
