Download Location for Latest Crystal 8.5 RDC Components

Could someone point out where we could get the latest Crystal 8.5 RDC components (main as well as database and export files)?

Trying to use the download site (https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm) doesn't lead to reliable results because entries that appear under a Crystal 8.5 filter actually belong to Crystal 9 or even 10.

I'm hunting for the most recent files because of pdf export failures. Even my development machine and even Crystal 8.5 itself is experiencing this problem (so I can't use the modules utility to isolate the issue). A separate thread () seems to indicate that using exportmodeller.dll (8.6.2.440) and crtslv.dll (8.6.1.726) solves that issue.

In case someone is tempted to deflect the question by suggesting I use later versions than 8.5, most of my users indeed use the more recent versions (I have 8.5, 9, XI R2, and 2008 versions). However, there are cases where the data source is simply not compatible with any Crystal version later than 8.5.

I have not downloaded the file as such as I do not have CR 8.5 system to see what files that SP will install, but perhaps that is the file you are looking for?

Hi Ludek,

Thanks for the info. I already had SP3, but it's not the latest version. Another user emailed me some components that are clearly from a later version or hotfix.

We used to use our FTP server for patch releases and updates. Try these links:

I see you had responded to a post some time ago for someone that also needed these files. We have a legacy application that we are now running on a 2008 server and are unable to open rtf files that are exported. I would like to see if these files will correct the issue as some users have noted that they will. Can you tell me where they might be found?

The files are not available anymore. Not from SAP anyhow. See this wiki for more details:

Someone may have posted them on other websites, so see if you can find them there.

However, please note that CR 8.5 was not supported on WIN 2008 server - there were never any updates for this either. Your two options:

1) Call sales (866-681-3435, http://www.sap.com/contactsap/directory/index.epx ), see if they can still provide you with CR XI R2 (CR 11.5), which supported Win 7 (so perhasp WIN 2008 will be OK, though you would be in an unsupported environment). Please note:

     a) CR XI R2 has been out of support for years now, so no fixes, no updates, etc., etc.

     b) CR XI R2 was the last version to ship the RDC.

2) Port your app to VS .NET. You will need to download SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Visual Studio .NET and use that with VS 2010 or 2012 or 2013.
