Dear All PP gurus,
I am having one issue regarding MRP as below
We encounter one item 1.03424.0009 x 6 , which system did not prompt us to buy on 30.03.09 after MRP run .
Can you please advise why ?
strategy is 40,MRP type PD ,Lot size is MB,Availability check ZC,Procurement type F.
Means what my problem is that why the system didnot prompt to buy yhis item on 30.03.2009?
Thanks,
Narayan
Hi,
Please check following things
1.Planned delivery time in material master record.
2.Check the stock availability :If sufficient stock is available then system will not prompt for the procurement.
3.Along with this check your lot size .

Dear Amit,
I had checked in the QA and PROD system .But in QA stock of the material is enough so i can understand that in this case MRP wont prompt to buy for the material. But when i checked in prod system there is zero stock of this material so why system doesnot give any promt to buy ?
And i have checked the things you have mentioned that
Pl. del time is 63 days, lot size is MB(Monthly lot size),
Kindly tell me some clues ASAP.
Thanks,
Narayan
Hi,
Do the below checks,
1. Check in MD21 for this material - plant combination if an entry exists in Planning file (if no entry exits, create an entry via MD20)
2. Check if MRP dep. rqmts field value is blank for the immediate parent of this material.
3. Ensure that bulk mtl indicator is not ticked in mtl master or in BOM
4. In MMBE, check if there is any stock in QC or in any other segment.
5. If the above does not help, then paste the values of your av. checking rule ZC.
Check & revert.
Regards,
Vivek
Dear Vivek,
I had checked all the things you have mentioned.
Planning file entries are not maintained for this material.
Bulk material indicator is not ticked.
I had checked in opjj values for ZC,there are only 4 check boxes are ticked i.e. include safety stock, stock in transfer, and incl. quality insp. stock and check w/0 RLT.
And also hi all,
The requirement was there on the 25.03. And user ran MRP on the 30.03 but there is no PR genereated. Only after they ran it the second time in 02.04 then the PR is genereated. Question is why on the 30.03 there is no PR generated for this item.
SO PLEASE TELL ME THE REASON.
Thanks,
Narayan

Hi,
Please create a planning file entry for this material - plant combination using MD20.
After creating the entry, re-run MRP & the system should put out a procurement proposal if there is no stock.
Check & revert if it resolves the issue.

Vivek

For MRP run to consider a material, initial pre-requisites the MRP type should be relevant for MRP eg: PD, then a planning file entry should exist.
In this case as you say there is no planning file entry, system will not consider the same. Hope it clarifies your query.

Dear Vivek,
My question is that why the system generates PR on date 02.04. and why not on 30.03.Because when we ran MRP on 02.04 then Planning file entries are not there then also it generates PR.
so my question is that if the problem is with planning file entries then it would have not also genetares the PR on 02.04 ?
So please tell me why this is so?
Thanks,
Narayan
Hello,
We delete old forecast and uploads new forecast weekly.
Forecast consumption logic is from 7 days in the past until 7 days in the future.
As far as I know, forecast reduction on next week's(Wk19) forecast resulting from current week's(Wk18) shipment will still reduce fresh forecast for next week(Wk19).
Is my understanding correct?
If we don't want next weeks' (Wk19) forecast to be reduced after the fresh forecast is uploaded, should foreward forecast consumption period be set zero?
Can you suggest options we can look at and the best one we should consider first?
Thanks a lot in advance!
best regards,
Jun

There needs to be at least reqmnt of safety stock for the system to trigger net reqmnt and create procurement proposal, if there is shortage.

Narayan,
What was the requirement date for material? I was not able to see that data in your post.

Hello Narayan,
Is there requirement for this material?

The question doesn have enough details to understand your query...
But I assume that the System is not giving you message about when to procure this item..
If so, Please check whether Planned delivery time is properly mentioned in the material master..
And also check for the stock of the material. If the material is sufficient in stock then MRP wont ask you to buy this material..
Hope this clarifies..
