ICM trace log level changing

Hi all

I would like to know if it is possible to change the log level of ICM trace file.

We know that we can change from SMICM but im supposing it will be returned back when system reload happens.

Also by parameter 「rdisp/trace」、but in this case all other trace file would change too.

We wnat to change only dev_icm and keep it long

Thank you in advance!

Hello Munkhzaya,

to increase the trace level only for the icm you could do it via SMICM, as you already know, when you re-start the icm the trace level will be set to the original value.

Another option (depending what you want to trace) is to use parameter "'icm/HTTP/trace_info".

It allows the analysis of HTTP headers in the developer traces without changing the trace level. This works for HTTP and HTTPS.
SAP Note 2012562 - Tracing HTTP information for problem analysis, describes the information you could get by setting dynamically this parameter.

Kind regards,
Mercedes

Hello Munkhzaya,

To increase the trace level of the ICM only, the only options available are through the transaction SMICM, through the "icmon" tool at operating system level, or through the ICM Web Administration Page at "http(s)://server-name:server-port/sap/admin".

This change must be performed every time the ICM (or the instance) is restarted.

There would be no parameter that you can set at the profile to control the trace level of the ICM only.

Hi Munkhzaya,

There are 2 options to change trace level for icm. Both of which you have mentioned [1 . via SMICM 2. via rdisp/TRACE ]

In case you want to trace a particular set of pattern or want to reduce the trace file size you can parameter

rdisp/TRACE_LOGGING

and

rdisp/TRACE_PATTERN_X.

The link for these parameters LINK . Hope this information helps

.

These parameters do not change the trace level 🙂
