Return Item and Free goods check box in purchase order

Hi Guru:

I just got the question regarding the return item and free goods check box,my question is that if I check the free good check box,then the price of the matieral will be charged to zero,however,if I want to issue the return purchase order to the vendor,does I need to check the return box first and then issue the return order to the vendor? Then go to MIGO transaction to select the movement type 122 to return the goods,what's the whole precedure for returning the goods to the vendor,can anybody tell me,very appriated!

Hi,

There may be two scenerios for return:

1.When u know the PO number for which you have done the Good receipt, in this case simple go to MIGO and use the movement type 122.

2.when you want to return the material and you donu2019t know the PO number, in this case you can create a PO with return indicator and do the MIGO.Sytem will post the material document with Movement type 161.

Hi,

Retun to vendor through have two types....

One is you have Po created, vendor send the item in that few items have rejected so you need to return the item to vendor......

here in MIGo chose returrn to vendor selce the PO numbere.... system automaticaly take the movent type 122....

sencond type is Retun PO..... In Po while creting the PO tick the return indication..

If you do the GR system will pick 161mopvent type.. ( GR returns)...

Ok,so what's the difference between these two return movement type 161 and 122,they seemed to be the same things,I do return the material to vendor,thanks.

Hi,

In the PO there is two check box...one is Free item and another is return.

In your case i thing you can simple select the Return check box and save the PO and when you will do the MIGO, system will automatically post the material document with movement type 161

HI,

IF You are returning the material to vendor , there is no need to tick the free goods check box, you need to tick the Returns check box alone.so that the price will not become zero in this case.
