xMII Installation

Hi all.

Recently I got a task to... learn xMII

I'd like to start working with it, but we have no installed xMII systems in our environment. So please suggest me which components I must install(and where I can get them!) in order to have correctly working system.

Hi Dmitry,

In very general terms:

You will need a server, virtual is fine. Install NetWeaver, then MII. If you do not already have Solution Manager, you will need to install that first before NetWeaver.

You will also need some installed Java, but read the requirements for the version you are installing. And a database to install NetWeaver on top of. You can use MaxDB for that purpose which is included in the NetWeaver installation files. Not sure what else you are asking for.

If you are Basis savvy, you are probably going to have a pretty easy time, otherwise make friends with some Basis folks. You will likely need their assistance.
