Hello

When i do account determination, if i use the valuation grouping code and activate it, then after the transaction of "account determination based on valuation areas", how these valuation grouping code is further attached to the G/L account. In OBYC, g/l account is seen as per the account assignment.

Please clarify how does the valuation grouping code is attached to G/L account and where??

Thanks and Regards

Hi

Each valuation area is assigned with one valuation grouping code.

Assign two valuation areas in one company code (where you want different postings to GL accounts) to two different valuation grouping codes (OMWD)

then in OBYC define valuation modifier, valuation class, GL account combination. When ever postings takes place, system checks the above combination.

Thanks

Hi

Valuation grouping code is attached to valuation area (plant) in OMWD. And also we define account determination through valuation grouping code in OBYC for transaction keys.

Thanks

thanks for reply

I know this, but after defining this valuation grouping code, how does system determine the G/L account

For eg; If there are 2 different valuation grp code AAA and BBB and both are having different g/l accounts, then how can i come to know those two different g/l account assigned to both of them

Hi

Check OMWB Simulation - you can understand how GL accounts are determined.

When you assign two valuation grouping codes (valuation modifier) to two different GL accounts for one chart of accounts - then you can see this in OBYC - enter chart of accounts - transaction key.

Hi

In OMWD you assign AAA and BBB to different plants. So your valuation areas get differed. Now AAA and BBB is called 'valuation modifier' in OBYC. Here if you check transaction key GBB you can assign different GL accounts to combination AAA - gen mod - val class - dbt - crdt and other same with BBB combination. Now according to your AAA and BBB combination it will identify the different GL accounts in automatic account determination.

Hope this clears.

Thanks

But let me clear one thing,

If i have G/L account A & B for 2 valuation grp code.

Then inside OBYC, when i enter the COA for assignment like BSX or GBB, then i see the number of G/l accounts provided in it. But out of those how system will know which one is to pick when.ie. If valuation grp code 1 comes into action and G/l A should be triggered, then how system will come to know, there should be some assignment for this also.

Hi

Will take example

Two plants A and B. valuation grouping code AAA and BBB

GL act 111 and 222

Assignement in OMWD

A -- AAA

B -- BBB

In OBYC, GBB

Valuation modi -- general modi -- valuation class -- debit -- credit

AAA AUA 7900 111 111

BBB AUA 7900 222 222

Now when you do goods movement, with material master valuation class 7900 if it is from plant A it will take 1st option from OBYC - GBB and if the transaction is from plant b then it will take second option.

Hope this example clears the doubt. Revert if you need any more clarification.
