Product Costing for Different Controlling version

Former Member

Hi,

I have two controlling versions.

In case of Version 0, i am maintaining plan costs, plan activity, and thereafter running standard cost estimation.

In Version 1, i am again maintaining separate set of plan costs, plan activity.

Do I need to create separate Costing version?

If yes, can anyone tell me the link between Costing version and Controlling version. Where exactly is the link?

Another query is, can I have the same standard cost of version 0 in version 1 as well?

Controlling version and costing version are two different concepts. They are not linked in any way.

Costing version is used when in the below case

normally when you do a cost estimate in CK11N multiple times it overwrites the previously saved cost estimates. SO when you go for release you will find only one cost estimate.

In order to have a choice of cost estimates while releasing you use the Costing version. So that you can do multiple cost estimates and have an option to release the cost estimate of your choice.

To understand clearly you can see the costing version field in CK24 selection screen.

Hi,

Thanks for the inputs..

I got the solution..

It is linked in the Valuation Variant in Activity Types / Processes tab, where you can specifiy which controlling version can be used..

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response.

However, the issue is how would the system know from which controlling area version, the plan costs, plan activity should be picked for different costing version.
