External Oracle database connection in portal

Hi Experts,

Currently I am able to connection portal database oracle tables in my jsp dynpage portal components using JDBC connectivity.

Now I need to connect to the oracle table(external) other than portal database.

Is it possible to do so?

What are all the steps involved?
