Hi all,
I am trying to set up the SOAMANAGER in our SAP Environment. Once I typed the T-code SOAMANAGER, I am able to see the SOAMANAGER. I then called a WSD from the SOAMANAGER and it fetched the service. When I am clicking on the "open web service navigator for the selected binding" and it showed me an error saying "Enter J2ee server name".
Then I went to the technical settings tab and clicked on "System Global Settings" option and went to J2EE Server Access Information
Hostname: *
Portnumber: *
Now here I dont know what to give and we have some thing like the following link which let us navigate to the Web UI of ECC version and asks for the SAP user Id and password.
http://vasapsbx01.company.com:8888/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=200
Some one please help me what is the Hostname and Port name that I shoulkd enter?
More over the basis guys told me that we only have ABAP Stack and not J2EE stack.
So can we create, deploy and test ABAP web services using SOAMANAGER without having a java stack?
Kindly please help if any bosy encountered this situation earlier.
Regards,
Jessica Sam
Hello,
All this information is in the documentation in help.sap.com, did you read it ???
And this question has already been answered here several times...
Anyway, you don't need a java stack to use ABAP web services.
You only need a java stack if you want to use the SAP webservice test client which is named webservice navigateor (aka wsbnavigator) and which is a java application.
You can use the SAP java stack from another system to test the web services from an abap only SAP system.
For example, I test my ECC6 web services using wsnavigator from the java stack of a SAP CRM 2007 system.
>So can we create, deploy and test ABAP web services using SOAMANAGER without having a java >stack?
Definitively, YES.
IF you need to test, you can use whatever webservice test client that you like. I use a free one which is called SOAPUI for example.

Olivier

Oliver,
Thanks for replying. I am new to all this and so dint know much about them.
So we have a BI system in office which is runing on Java Stack. So can i test, manage and configure my ABAP Web services that i created in My ECC system using the SOAMANAGER from BI clinet?
If so how?..how should i be configuring this? can you provide me the links of documentation or threads if it had been answered earlier.
our ECC environment is as follows
ERP 2005, RELEASE 6.0
KERNEL 7
COMPONRNET ECC 6.0 NON -UNICODE SYSTEM
BASIS & ABAP SP 14
So with this ECC environment, can i use the SOAMANAGER from BI system.
I am sorry if these questions aboutr SOAMANAGER seem silly ..but i am new to SOA and want a little bit of guidance and i am glad that you replied back.
Regards,
Jessica Sam
Hi Jessica,
Yes, I think that you should be able to use wsnavigator from your BI java stack.
You have to configure the host and java port of BI in SOAMANAGER.
Because of your SP level, you may have to check this note
[Note 1148807 - SOAMANAGER does not correctly call WS navigator|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1148807]
You may also have to change the security settings of the wsnavigator in the BI java stack.
